    Abstract: 本書論述層次有三：首先，依原大德本《白虎通》之文本，闡釋並確立其「國憲」、「法典」內容與性質；其次，從漢代經學之發展歷史，分析白虎觀會議宗旨實與《白虎通》內容性質不相應；再者，由漢代禮制之沿革推論章帝敕命曹褒撰述漢禮之意，比對《漢禮》與《白虎通》兩者在篇目結構與內容性質上之若合符節。書末附加分析蔡邕與《白虎通》之關係，追究《漢禮》被誤植為「白虎通」之可能性，以為結論。
