本計畫希望能藉由與棒球界的文物收藏者合作，將分散各處的棒球文物，包括獎盃、錦旗、獎牌、老照片 … 等，進行數位化之工作，並加註適當的後設資料（Metadata），使其成為更具參考價值之數位典藏庫；同時也將開發親和之使用者介面、便捷之檢索程式與深度加值之應用系統，從而建立一永久性並免費開放外界使用之「台灣棒球數位文物館」，並與「台灣棒球運動珍貴新聞檔案數位資料館」、「台灣棒球維基館」充分整合，以協助棒球界人士、棒球運動研究者以及所有對棒球有興趣的社會大眾，能更深入、更有效率的探索台灣棒球運動與社會發展的脈動。今年預計與知名棒球文物收藏家葉國輝先生和素有「台灣貝比魯斯」之稱的洪太山先生合作，將極具歷史意義及文化保存價值之私人收藏品進行數位典藏，有助於深入瞭解台灣早期棒運發展的軌跡。以上合計約100件，每件預計產出數位化照片4張（高、中、低解析度各1張及網路流通用1張），總計近400張；其中，三種不同解析度的照片純粹作為典藏用，而網路流通用數位影像100張及其Metadata共100筆則開放取用，也將一併匯入數位典藏聯合目錄。 This project will cooperate with the collectors of baseball relics in Taiwan by digitizing their collections, such as medals, race cups, pennants and memorable photos … etc. The primary goal is to create a digital relic hall for Taiwan baseball. In this year, we will cooperate with Mr. Ye Guo-Huei and Mr. Hong Tai-Sun. They promise to provide about 100 objects for us to digitize. After digitizing these materials, we will propose an appropriate classification scheme to classify or group them, such that they may become more useful digital content. Furthermore, we will develop a convenient information retrieval and exhibition system with friendly user-interface for easily access, which will be open and free to the users. The final goal of the research is to setup a digital archive system for reserving the cultural heritage of Taiwan baseball, and helping everyone to discover the relationship between the baseball history and society transition in Taiwan more effectively.
