In today’s competitive business transactions, to encourage the retailers to buy more, the supplier may provide a permissible delay to his/her retailers if the order quantity is large. Thus, the supplier makes a predetermined quantity and offers a trade credit period. The retailer is allowed a permissible period to pay back the cost of products bought without paying any interest if the order quantity is larger than the predetermined quantity. This study will develop an inventory model for non-instantaneous deteriorating items under a situation in which the supplier provides the retailer various trade credits linked to order quantity. Based on the above conditions, we establish a mathematical model to find the optimal ordering policy for maximizing the retailer’s total profit. Moreover, the characteristics for the optimal solution are discussed. Finally, the models proposed are illustrated through numerical examples and sensitivity analysis is reported.
