    Abstract: The higher-order plate theory is adopted in a finite element analysis of composite plates laminated of orthotropic bimodulus materials. The governing equations are also derived variationally. The accuracy and validity are demonstrated through several benchmark problems. It is suggested that the present results are more accurate than the first-order theory results.
