    Abstract: This paper discusses the recent Doha round negotiation on the liberalization of agricultural production and trade, its impacts on Japan and lessons for future policy reform in Taiwan. Japan and Taiwan share the similar trading pressures and agricultural environment under the WTO Doha Development Agenda, the outcomes of the negotiations are likely to bring about substantial impact on the agricultural sector in both countries. Japanese agricultural reforms offer thoughtful lessons for Taiwan.
