The purpose of this study is to define and validate the competency of medical librarians. Based on their roles and tasks in the medical institutes, librarian competency must incorporate five dimensions: technical services, reader services, management of medical library, application of information technology, and medical knowledge. 本研究之目的是以醫學圖書館服務作業中的技街服務、讀者服務、以及醫學圖書館的管理相關議題、醫學圖書館員資訊科技應用以及醫學基礎知識這五個層面中來了解在醫療相關組織內的醫學園書館員應具備之專業能力為何，以符合其在組織中的應扮演的角色與任務之需求。本研究採用專家深度訪談之方式，來獲得在醫學圖書館相關領域之專家對於醫學圖書館員專業能力需求之意見。
