AACR2 normalizes uniform titles in a separate chapter (chapter 25), which adds 36 relative rules more than AACR1. The expansion of AACR2 greatly displays the importance of uniform titles in western materials. However, Chinese cataloging seldom utilizes uniform titles. This article tries to analyze and discuss it by means of terms explanation, evolution, and application of uniform titles in AACR2.
