Abstract: The difficulties of determining the order of a multi-Michaelis-Menten model and the estimation of the values of its adjustable parameters make a numerical prediction of the variation of the rate of substrate consumption as a function of the concentration of substrate nontrivial. The relation between these variables, however, can be estimated by resorting to a less rigorous, but more efficient, fuzzy-relation matrix representation (FRMR). In principle, FRMR is system independent, and is applicable for the description of essentially any quantitative relation between a dependent variable and an independent variable. The applicability of FRMR is examined through analyzing the data obtained through the Monte Carlo simulation. The result of the present analysis shows that it successfully simulates the characteristic of a multi-Michaelis-Menten kinetics.
