    Abstract: 四庫全書編修的過程中常有因語涉「違礙」而逼刪削的情況，「術數類」圖書也經刪削，但進一刪削與「違礙」倒無多少關係，而是涉及了如何正視術數類圖書的問題。本文以為四庫館臣在處理術數類圖書時是頗為困惑的，因為術數類的思維方式與正統思想相去甚遠，本不合儒家理性的思考，但術數存在是一既成的事實，有清皇室不乏崇尚相術者，館臣之首的紀昀更有志怪之作，如何在兩者之間取得平衡實是對館臣的一大考驗。館臣於是提出了「姑存其書，聊備一格」、「用資考證，以為校讎之助」為篩選標準，且指出術數一學「其旨不出乎陰陽五行生剋制化，實皆易之支派，傳以雜說耳。」
    這樣一來，雖為術數類圖書保留了學術史上的意義，但也無可避免地衍生出種種問題。
