    Abstract: 涵忍的特質，在東方女性經常可見，但是也同樣呈現在西方文學作品中。宿命的女性，在面對許多悲苦的時候，總是默默地承受，從不怨尤。尤其舊社會女子，這種特質彷彿與生俱來似的。
    本文將女性的涵忍特質約略歸納，並舉文學作品說明，期能從中瞭解這種女性特有的輩風貌。
    時代在進步，女性的觀念不能永遠原地踏步。女性如何從這種局限中掙脫，中外不乏這類文學作品。從涵忍到果決，從受制於男性到獨立自主，可以看出女性打破父系神話的迷思之企圖心。
