本文擬就資訊計量學的發展歷程作一全面性的回顧，進而析論其定義與範園，再而希望能跨步未來，向前瞻望網路計量學(webometrics) 的願景，最後以實證研究見證網路計量學之應用並總結網路計量學之問題與拓展方向。 This artic1e describes the definition, nature, scope and development of informetrics. In addition, applying bibliometrics techniques, an experimental research was conducted to investigate the distribution of domain names and the distribution of links between web sites on the subject of digital library. Moreover, problems with webometrics and new direction of informetrics are discussed and outlined.
