    Abstract: 台灣地區南部區域同為本省農業及工業發展重鎮,由於近年來南部區域在用水量日益增加、河川水質污染嚴重及水資源開發不易等社會、經濟、環境的快速變化影響下,實有必要針對南部區域未來的用水問題作全方位及整體性的探討,本文即針對南部區域未來的水資源供需狀況,配合國土綜合開發計畫、區域計畫、各縣巿綜合發展計畫、現階段水資源政策綱領、現階段工業用水發展政策綱領及各產業未來的用水情勢,進行深入的分析與檢討,研擬南部區域水資源綜合發展計畫,以因應南部區域邁向二十一世紀之用水需求及作為未來水資源開發與調配之指導原則。
    Southern area is the most important area for agricultural andindustrial development in Taiwan. However, the rapid changes ofsocial, economic, and environmental sectors cause the difficultsituations in water resources development in southern Taiwan. In thisstudy, the overall water demand and supply of southern Taiwan isevaluated and analyzed. Coordinated with the preliminary planning ofsurface water and preliminary management of groundwater, an integratedmaster plan of water resources in the southern Taiwan area isinitiated, which will serve as a guide for development and managementof water resources in this area for the 21st century.
