The systematic investigation of water contents on alumina in sample cleanup procedures for pesticides analysis have been studied. The purpose of the present study is to investigate the efficiency of deactivated alumina cleanup technique for recovery of selected organochlorine pesticides.
1 ml of pesticides mixture transferred to water deactivated alumina and 9 ml of hexane was added. Eluant was adjusted to final volume of 10 ml with hexnne before analysis. Gas chromatographic analysis of the pesticides mixture was performed using an HP 5880A gas chromatograph with an electron capture detector (EeD) equipped with 2 m x 4 mm ID glass column packed with 1.5% SP-2250/1.95% SP-2401 on 100/120 suplcoport.
We havA found that the recovery of organochlorine pesticides was improved with the increase of water contents on alumina. In addition , the BNA surrogates were almost removed by the deactivated alumina. Finally, the recovering efficiency of the individual pesticide through the alumina that have been deactivated by different percentage of water will be discussed.
