Introduction: 本院之數學、化學兩系成立於1958年，物理系成立於1963年，三系均設有大學部、碩士班和博士班，是國內成立理學院最早的學校之一，曾經在1975年教育部主辦的教學評鑑三系分別獲得與台大和清華並列優等的殊榮。2003年增設「生命科學研究所」碩士班，以整合基礎科學和生物科技相關的應用領域，順應21世紀之生物科技發展潮流。2008年新增設「理學院學士班」，採「大一不分系，大二選學系」之延後分流教育設計，讓學生有多一年的時間，作出適性的抉擇。

As one of the oldest colleges among the private universities in Taiwan, the College of Science consists of 3 departments, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, and 1 Graduate Institute of Life Sciences. The Departments of Mathematics and Chemistry have been established since 1958; and the Department of Physics was founded in 1963. All of the three departments offer 3 programs: undergraduate, master, and Ph.D. In order to tally with the market trend in the 21st century and to integrate both fields in basic science and biotechnology, the Graduate Institute of Life Sciences was therefore established in 2003.
