A compact spherical surface planimeter is devised for measuring thermal radiation view factor (ie. angle factor or configuration factor). As a fundamental concept for this design, the uniform irradiation reference surface is introduced. As to the precision of mechanism, we confine ourselves only to the influence of linkage dimension errors by means of unit virtual velocity method.
