Preliminary results of an experimental program investigating the primary influence variables in soil-geotextile filtration system are reported. An apparatus modified from Calhoun device is used to implement simulation of boundary and environmental conditions encountered in the field applications. Filtration behavior of the system under influences of the hydraulic gradient, application of normal stress were investigated.
