The effectiveness of Resilient-Friction Base Isolators (R-FBI) has been verified theoretically
and experimentally in base isolation of building frames. In this research, R-FBI bearings
are applied to bridges for earthquake protection. In addition to the establishment of
analytical model for the isolated structure concerned, a time-history analysis in consideration
of the effects of multiple-support excitation would be performed as well. Furthermore, the influences
upon seismic behaviors due to the variation of material properties of isolators themselves
and earthquake contents are investigated in detail. It is seen from the results that the
performances of R-FBI system are not only comparable with other types of isolators but even
    better in some aspects.
