    Abstract: 在計算淺基礎的承載力時,Terzaghi的方法仍 為目前最常用的方法之一,但是Terzaghi方法只適 用於粗糙基底,且對於Nr的計算交待不清,本文則 依Terzaghi的承載力破壞模式加以擴充使之能適用 於任何基底,並計算平滑及粗糙基底的承載力係 數。本文並利用文獻中大型現地試驗的結果來 驗證本文之計算方法,結果顯示:以平滑情況及粗 糙情況分別代入凝聚力土及低凝聚力土壤計算 承載力可得較佳結果。本文計算法與其他方法 相較有較佳之結果。
    Terzaghi's method for computing bearing capacity of shallow foundation is one of the most popular methods. But Terzaghi's method can only be applied to the rough base and he did not describe how the Nr was obtained clearly. This paper utilizes and expends Terzaghi's failure mode, which now can be applied to both smooth and rough footing, and computes bearing capacity factors. Large scale test results from literature are used for comparison with the current method. Results shown that good agreement may be obtained by assuming foundation base to be smooth and rough for cohesive and poorly cohesive soils, respectively. Current method is as good as any other methods available.
