The purpose of this proposal is to design a learning environment based on movies, I which learners will be able to apply and learn how to use English in more realistic situations. This design features the use of highlighting movie subtitles to help English as Foreign Language (EFL) students learn correct usage of terms and phrases while watching the movie, a method implementing “Incidental Language Learning”. The system signals instances of miscollocation (misused collocation) to the student and highlights the correct usage of the phrase within the subtitle. We hope that such a system will be able to aid students in learning English.
