| Abstract: | 當代藝術從傳統藝術的窠臼與美術館體制中解放，使藝術更貼近大眾生活。藝術家也勇於挑戰社會體制，或是對城市環境進行批判性的創作，藉以傳達其想法。近期大型國際性策展盛行，儼然形成一股新的風潮，策展人成為居中協調與溝通的重要角色，在各方的利益與創作理念之間找到平衡點。策展人一方面試著經由眾多作品的觀點來描繪出主題，另一方面則藉由展演活動的策劃企圖引起民眾的關注。
因此，在面對台灣當下社會的多元發展，以及城市環境的混沌狀態，本研究嘗試以「策展」的角度切入，企圖尋找出更真實且適切的方式來回應城市。本研究將城市專業者比擬為策展人的角色，希望能在固有體制中找到新的出路。同時也將「策展」視為一種彈性介入城市的方式，甚至是一種由下而上的改變機會。本研究由以下的觀點探討「城市策展」：
‧ 「策展」是種宣傳的手法，藉以傳達真實的意念來引起民眾
的共鳴；
‧ 「策展」是種測試的機制，藉以得到民眾的反饋進而瞭解城
市的需求；
‧ 「策展」是種擾動的方式，藉以改變城市當下的狀態而產生
新的可能；
‧ 「策展」是種介入的行動，藉以進一步觸發民眾對於城市環
境的想像。
解嚴至今二十年，台灣的社會日趨開放；民眾越來越勇於發表自己的意見，而政府的施政方式也在改變當中。伴隨著全球化浪潮，城市開始使用企業化經營的概念，積極地運用五花八門的活動來包裝和行銷。呈現出一種表面上雖已脫離體制，卻又身陷於全球化與資本主義系統中的狀態。存在於台灣社會中的反抗力量，並未因改革開放或政黨輪替而有所衰減，反而有機會採取更多元的方式與現實對抗。眾聲喧嘩的當下，策展活動在城市中廣泛被利用，雖然其活動目的各不相同，但已經使「策展城市」的輪廓逐漸浮現。本研究透過既有活動與事件的分析，試圖勾勒出當下官方與民間城市活動的樣貌，進一步討論「策展」活動所能發揮的特性。
Modern art has been set free from the stereotype of traditional art and the system of art galleries, which makes art getting closer to ordinary life. Artists challenge social systems or undertake critical creations against the city environment to express their own viewpoints. Recently, there has been a fad of big international exhibitions, creating new fashions. Curators become an important role in negotiating among different communities, trying to balance between the mutual benefits and the spirits of creation. Curators attempt to depict the themes from different aspects of art; on the other hand, they want to attract the public’s attention by arranging an meaningful exhibition.
Therefore, based on the multi-dimensional developments of the society and the chaotic situation of the city environment in Taiwan, this research attempts to discuss through the topic of “Curating City” to find a more real and appropriate way to respond to the activities of the city. This research considers the role of a curator as an expert of the city who has the view to finding a way out from the rigid system of the city. At the same time, the research regards “curations” as a resilient way to get involved with the city, a bottom-up opportunity to make a change of the city. This research tries to discuss “curating city” from the following points of view:
‧It is a means of advertisement in order to get resonance from the public by expressing true ideas.
‧It is a experimental mechanism, trying to understand the reaction of the public and realize the needs of the city.
‧It is a way of disturbance so as to produce new possibility by changing the contemporary statements of the city.
‧It is an action of getting involved to stimulate the imagination of people toward the city environment.
With the declaration of the end of the martial law, the society of Taiwan has become more and more liberal, and people here become active and willing to express their own opinions. As well as the policies of the government has also been changing -- with the trend of globalization, with the spirit of operating the city an enterprise, starts to advertise and promote the city through various activities. Superficially, operating the city activities has departed from the bureaucrat; however it has been trapped into another way of globalization and capitalization. The rebellion power underneath Taiwan’s society does not recede because of the reformation and the transition of the political parties; rather, it has more chances to fight against the reality from multiple perspectives. According to the demands from distinct communities, various ways for curating exhibitions have been experimented in the city. Though there are different purposes, the outline for “curating city” has gradually emerged. This research depicts different aspects for curating city done by various communities and the government, and discusses further for the special traits of curating city may be developed. |
