本論文包含兩類液晶材料之合成及性質探討。第一部分主要合成雙聚物分子並以苯環分子作為剛硬連結基,連結兩盤狀液晶原。苯環分子提供不同的連結角度,影響盤狀雙聚物分子產生不同的排列位向。分別在苯環上的1、2,1、3,1、4位置接上盤狀液晶原,因所接角度所造成的空間效應對此類雙聚物分子形成排列散亂的盤形向列型液晶相之影響。 第二部分以合成具有液晶相之環狀分子為目標。通常此類大環分子反應步驟繁雜且不易形成液晶相。在此論文中利用同時含碘及炔基之單體合成出三角巨環分子,具有反應步驟簡易及提高產率之優點,雖目前所合成之大環分子不具液晶相,但期望改變外圍取代基形成液晶材料。 Most dimer compounds connected with soft linkers. In the first part of this thesis,two discotic mesogen connected with benzene as rigid linker to form discotic dimer. Benzen can provide different bridging angles, which influence discotic dimmers forrming different arrangement in the space. Because of steric effect, bridging discotic mesogen in ortho、meta、para position in bezene formed discotic nematic phase. The aim of the second part of this thesis is to synthesize triangular cyclynes with mesophase behavior. Cyclynes is hard to synthesize and difficult to form liquid crystal phase. To synthesize triangular cyclynes with iodo and ethynyl unit compound can reduce reaction step and enhance reaction yield.
