    Title: 含1,6-萘二酚之彎曲形液晶分子合成與性質研究

    Abstract: 系列一中為含1,6-萘二酚之彎曲形分子,1,6-CnOClBBA-N系列中(n=8,10,12,14,16)液晶相溫度範圍22-50℃,顯微鏡觀察下生成木紋狀紋理圖,外加電場下,紋理圖中extinction brush發生偏轉,判斷為SmCAPA相。將氯取代由外側苯環移致內側苯環,1,6-CnOBClBA-N系列中(n=16)僅出現單向B2相。若將外側苯環上氯取代換成溴取代時,1,6-CnOBrBBA-N系列中(n=8,10,12,14,16)皆生成雙向SmCAPA相,熔點跟澄清點相較於1,6-CnOClBBA-N系列皆明顯下降,液晶相溫度範圍18-50℃。單邊取代分子1-CnOClBBA-6-CnOBBA-N系列(n=8,12,16)及1-CnOBBA-6-CnOClBBA -N系列(n=12),皆生成雙向SmCAPA相,液晶相溫度範圍分別為21-47℃及39℃,相較於1,6-CnOClBBA-N系列液晶相溫度範圍明顯縮短。在1,6-CnOBr2BBA-N(n=16)系列中並無發現有液晶相的生成。
    系列二為含1,6-萘二酚之Hockey-stick分子。1-C6-6-CnOBBA-N系列,在n=8時升降溫皆可觀察到SmA相、N相,但在快速降溫下才可觀察到有SmC相的生成,且N相溫度範圍僅只有約1℃。當增長尾端烷氧鏈碳數,在n=12時升降溫皆可觀察到SmA相,但在降溫時才可觀察到SmC相。
    This study 1,6-dihydroxynaphthalene as a core to construct Hockey-stick mesogens and banana shaped mesogens. The mesophases were studied by modifications of the side arms with lateral substituents, and also increased the terminal chain lengths. The mesophase behaviors were studied by optical polarizing microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, and powder X-ray diffraction.

Series 1,6-CnOClBBA-N(n=8,10,12,14,16) with grainy texture, The Layer structure has be identified by XRD patten, the extinction brush changed under the electronic field. This phase were SmCAPA phase with tempature ranges 22-50℃.
    Series 1,6-CnOBClBA-N (n=16)exhibited monotropic B2 phase. With lateral bromine substituent, series 1,6-CnOBrBBA-N(n=8,10,12,14,16)with grainy texture, The Layer structure has be identified by XRD patten, the extinction brush changed under the electronic field. This phase were SmCAPA phase with tempature ranges 23-41℃. As compared to Series 1,6-CnOClBBA-N, the clearing point and melting point are lower.
    Asymmetric lateral chlorine substituent molecules,series1-CnOClBBA-6-CnO
    BBA–N(n=8,12,16) and 1-CnOBBA-6-CnOClBBA–N(n=12), all with grainy texture. All exhibited SmCAPA phase with tempature ranges 21-47℃ and 39℃. As compared to Series 1,6-CnOClBBA-N, the clearing point and melting point are higher. No mesophase is observed series 1,6-CnOBr2BBA-N(n=16).
    Hockey-stick molecules derived from 1,6-dihydroxynaphthalene .Series 1-C6-6-CnOBBA-N, with n=8 exhibited enantiotropic SmA phase with and N phase.The SmC phase exhibited for fast cooling. But N phase with tempature ranges only 1℃. On increasing the terminal chain lengths n=12 , exhibited enantiotropic SmA phase and monotropic SmC phase.
