Abstract:	近年來全球化的風潮正快速席捲全世界，基於擴大引進外商投資，中國的金融服務業對外將採取更開放的措施，外資金融機構可逐漸享有國民待遇。因此，將使外資銀行更大幅地提高設立據點的意願。本研究之主要目的是探究外資銀行進入中國與否的動機及原因，以及影響外資銀行在中國發展之積極度的因素為何。研究時點為2007 年，解釋變數包括：銀行總資產、資產報酬率、淨利息收入率、資本適足率、是否為亞洲國家、外資銀行母國在中國的直接投資額、投資母國與中國之雙邊貿易額。根據實證結果，當外資銀行的資產規模越大，即有雄厚的資本為後盾，則進入中國的機率及在中國設立分行的可能性越高；其次，當外資銀行資本適足率越高，代表其風險承擔能力越強，進入中國設立分行的可能性就越大；最後，當外資銀行母國隸屬亞洲國家者，表示該國的地理位置距離中國相較歐美地區近，因此進入中國設立分行的可能性越高。 In recent years the globalization is fast rolling up the world, and China’s financial service industry would like to take some more open measures attract foreign investment. As foreign banks now may enjoy the national treatment, they enhance the wish to set up operating branches in China. The purpose of this study is to discuss motives for foreign banks entering the Chinese market, and what factors influence foreign banks’ activity in China. The empirical evidence shows when foreign bank’s asset scale is bigger, it has higher probability and possibility to enter China and to set up branches in China. If foreign bank’s capital adequacy ratio is higher, it has also a higher possibility to set up branches in China. Besides, when the foreign bank motherland subordinates the Asian countries, it has higher possibility to set up branches in China as well.
