Abstract:	出口擴張為促進台灣產業成長的重要因素之一，而輕工業亦是引領台灣自農業轉向工業發展的重要產業。因此本文研究目的為採用一套較為嚴謹之計算方式，進而了解台灣各階層產業出口擴張的趨勢以及對該產業成長的貢獻，最後再專注於造成輕工業出口擴張趨勢變化的原因。本研究採用Hsu(2007)與Chenery(1960)之產業成長來源分解方法，並以茲作為衡量出口擴張之依據。兩方法所衡量之出口擴張趨勢大致相同，惟Hsu之衡量較為完整(包含直接與間接效果)，各年數值皆高於Chenery(僅含直接效果)之衡量。研究結果顯示出口擴張在各階層產業對其產業成長皆具有顯著的貢獻。然而，輕工業出口擴張對高階層產業(包含全體產業與製造業)的貢獻則於1986年出現重大轉折。早年輕工業由於政策支持、物價穩定、工資低廉以及農業部門支持等因素出口擴張趨勢遞增且對高階層產業具重要貢獻。1986年之後則由於政策轉向、工資上漲、台幣升值、地價上漲、國際保護主義興起與產業外移等眾多不利因素，貢獻率大幅衰退。 Since the export expansion was one of the important factors which promote industry growth of Taiwan, and the light industry was also an important industry of Taiwan that led whole development of industry turning form agriculture to industry; the purpose of this study is first to employ some industry growth decompositions in order to undersand the trend of export expansion in each level of the industry in Taiwan and the contributions to the industrialization, and then comes to explore the reasons underlying those trends of the export expansion of the light industry. 　　This study employs two industry decompositions for sources of industrialization provided respectively by Hsu(2007) and Chenery(1960). The tendency of the export expansion with these two measurements was merely the same, but the measurement provided by Hsu was more complete including direct and indirect effect. This study shows that the export expansion has played a very significant role to the industry growth at each industry level. This paper finds also that the contribution of export expansion of the light industry has been significant until 1986. Before 1986, the export expansion of the light industry not only increased progressively but also made the important contribution to the industry growth. This is due to the support of policy, the stability of prices, the low of the wages, and the support of Agriculture Apartment. However, the contribution of export expansion to industry growth of light industry has been non-significant since 1986. This is because the changing of the policy, the raising of the wages, the appreciating of the new Taiwan dollar, the increasing of the land pricing, the raising of international protectionism and the moving outside the native country of industry and so on.
