    Abstract: 由於國內金融環境改變,過去銀行依賴甚重的傳統業務收入減少,銀行開始經營非傳統業務。非傳統業務所帶來的收入占銀行總營收比重增加,對於銀行的經營也具有影響性,但大部份關於評估銀行經營績效的文獻當中,並未將非傳統業務收入當做產出項來討論,這樣勢必造成銀行經營績效的低估。
    有鑒於此,本研究在探討銀行經營績效時,將非傳統業務收入視為產出項,計算出銀行經營非傳統業務前後對於績效的改變程度,並分析該業務對於各類銀行經營績效的影響性。本文研究樣本包括台灣地區各類銀行,利用各樣本銀行的財務資料進行經營績效評估,實證期間為1995-2003年,所使用的投入變數為資本、資金、利息費用及非利息費用等要素,而產出變數為放款、利息收入、總營收、非利息收入及表外交易收入等要素,利用DEA模型進行各類銀行經營績效之評估。
    實證結果指出,各類銀行承作非傳統業務之後,大部份銀行的技術效率值都有明顯改進,而外商銀行與本國民營銀行的經營績效是優於本國公營銀行。考慮了非傳統業務之後,各銀行的績效都提升尤其是本國銀行,因此,本國銀行應該更加致力於非傳統業務的經營,另外部份銀行在承作非傳統業務後純粹技術效率雖有進度,但因資源分配的不效率造成技術效率無法提升,或是生產規模不足,所以建議這些銀行必須擴大其經營規模才能到達更有效率的生產。
    Because of the change of financial environment, bank’s traditional income decrease but the weight of nontraditional income increase. This kind of income have more influence on bank’s operation. Most paper about the efficiency analysis don’t consider the nontraditional activities income. It will underestimate the bank’s efficiency.
    This paper is about the efficiency analysis of bank’s nontraditional activities in Taiwan, local commercial and foreign banks included, from 1995 through 2003. In this study we choose all bank’s financial data to make a complete analysis. The input variables are bank’s capital、assets、interest expenses and non-interest expenses. The output variables are bank’s loan、interest income、total income、non-interest income and off-balance sheet income. Using the DEA model to analyze the efficiency of all banks.
    After empirical analysis, the paper gets some findings. Nontraditional activities bring the more benefits than traditional activities. Most bank’s technical efficiency have a notable improvement, especially local commercial banks. Some bank’s improve on pure technical efficiency but not on scale efficiency.
