    Abstract:
The Philippine overseas laborers, approximately 8,000,000 people to work outside, stand at 10% of the Philippine population. They earn foreign exchange for their homeland. In views of international labor, this thesis mainly focuses on how they survive overseas. The views are framed by different perspectives of human resources theory, and developmental dependence theory. The thesis discusses about the status of the Philippine overseas laborers in the global division of labor, the reasons why they choose their occupations, how the Philippine government protects them and help them easily to get accustomed to the foreign environment. The thesis also investigates how they influence their homeland in family life, children’s education, and their communities after they return from overseas for new jobs and life. Finally, the thesis inquires how the Philippine overseas laborers, in the human rights-oriented globalization era, use their advantages to work outside and how the government can serve them to get accustomed to the overseas environment.
