    Abstract: 在現在的茶道三千家之中、裏千家流儀的特徴是由十一世玄々斎所建立的顕著「積極性」。就如玄々斎所創新的茶箱点或立礼式、和巾点等等所表現出的風格一樣、對於新創作比其他兩家積極。像是立礼式或盆略點等新作法之後也被三千家或其他流派所接受、在這種傳統流派中這樣的積極性是很少見的。十三世円能斎、十四世淡々斎繼承了他所傳下的茶風、逐漸成長為茶道的最大流派。
    幕末的門主、十一世玄々斎精中是在十歳的時候由大給松平家到裏千家十代認得斎柏叟的身邊入贅當養子、積極的謀求裏千家的成長、活躍於各階層。因此、玄々斎被評價為幕末明治初期時茶道近代化的先駆。
      現有的茶道研究中對玄々斎喜好的茶具或茶法等的研究雖然很多、對他個人的研究卻很少。因此、本論文將對玄々斎的人品個性及他所建立的功績進行深入的研究。
    The style of Urasenke was also characterized in the Sansenke by remarkable "positiveness" since the XI Gengensai. It is more positive than other two houses to making a new point front so that it may be represented by the creation of the tea box point by Gengensai, or Table style, revival of Wakinten, etc. Although it is received while Table Style and Bonryaku change a form also into Sansenke or the other school after that, such positiveness can be said are new in a traditional school. So, in this paper, various distinguished services and reform which were built with the personal character and character of Gengensai are clarified.
