    Abstract: 普遍來說,拉丁美洲幾乎所有國家均存在著經濟問題。由貧窮所衍生出來的問題是非常錯綜複雜的,任何現象都可能與之有關。當然,即使每個國家有著同樣的問題,也會因為地理位置、民族文化、社會結構等許許多多的原因而導致不同的因果關係。換言之,每個國家雖存在著貧窮問題,其形成的原因及衍生出來的問題均會有所不同。

    瓜地馬拉與其他大部分國家較為明顯不同的地方即國內原住民的比例佔了全國一半人口左右,一般來說在人種複雜的國家相對來說也會產生較複雜的問題。本文嘗試將瓜地馬拉的貧窮問題與其國內的教育做一個結合。首先將貧窮所衍伸出的問題分成三大類來探討,如行政、社會、政治等問題,進而探討貧窮與教育之間的關係。換句話說,教育與貧窮具有一種因果關係,同時也會互相影響。

    最後,本文主要在於研究貧窮與教育之間的密切關係,以證明不但教育為瓜地馬拉治國根本,同時也是該國當前所必須首要重視的課題。
    General speaking, the economy problems exist in most of Latin America countries. The problems resulted from poverty could be very complicated and any phenomenon could have connection with it. However, even thought every country has the same problem, the relation between the consequences and reasons such as geographical location, ethical culture, and social structure…etc, can be variety. In other word, although poverty problem exist in every country, the reason of those problems and the extending problems result from them are all different.

    The most significant difference between Guatemala and the other countries is the native population takes around 1/2 share of national population, and normally a country with multiple races could result in a more complicated problem. This study intends to have a meta-discussion of poverty problem and national education of Guatemala. First of all, it discusses the extending problems of poverty in three major sections: Administration, Social and Politic. Thereafter it analysis the relationship between poverty and education. In short, education and poverty are the two side of one single object; it affects each other as reason and result.

    In sum, this study is focusing on the relationship of poverty and education, to prove that the education is root of country development for Guatemala, and it is the most important object that its government should pay attention on.
