Abstract:	法國人素來喜歡在閒暇之餘到劇場消磨時間，隨著法國大革命的來臨，劇場的表演活動有增無減，新舊劇碼在各地大小劇輪番上陣演出。在眾多的新劇本中，「史事劇」這個劇種的興起與衰退與法國大革命時期所發生的政治事件、戰役與社會新聞的關係，有著其他類別的劇本所無法取的取代的特殊情緣。史事劇是在何種背景下產生？它的寫作題材有哪些？這類劇植的創作與演出有些什麼實務上的困難？史事劇與時事間的互動情況？由於大部分的法國文學史絕口不談這個問題，而一般與法國戲劇史有關的專書對此也只是輕描淡寫的提到，故希望藉著本文來探討分析史事劇的特質與時代性。
