    摘要: The article is a reflective statement of an ELT professional's personal journey in acquiring EFL through authentic exposure. It highlights the distinction between reading and studying a second language and extols the efficacy of extensive reading in the eventual attainment of L2 proficiency. A literacy-oriented, reading-based instruction is proposed for all levels of learning.
