    Abstract: 英文作文為所有英文課程中繪龍點經之部份。但英文作文是否有結構?其結構為何?傳統修辭學是否可提供其線索?而此種西方之修辭學是否可用以分析以英文為外文的作文?對比修辭學之興起，提供了答案，而且從對比修辭學之觀點，又可探究西方線型的作文結構，在英文為外文作文中與西方傳統作文結構有什麼不同?此種對比分析有其教學上之重大含義。
