    Abstract: 翻譯是語言文流與文化交流的契機。研讀英美文學不僅要克服語言的障礙，更要跨越文化的隔開。前者多賴中文翻譯與解說，後者則靠中西文化的比較促成觀念上的轉換，亦可視為一種翻譯。為加強文學教育，本文指出，在語言上突顯文學語言的難譯性、不可譯性或易誤解性，可引導學生探討中英文語言結構的不同;在文化觀念的轉換上，強調兩部相闋的中西作品間的不同與矛右，可喚起學生對中華文化本身的認識以及對英美文化的了解，進而培養文化自信心與對異質文化的尊重與包容。
