Abstract:	愛默生放棄神職,經由世俗的途徑引導了更多的美國國民脫離清教徒的傳統,促進了該國人民建立一個自立自主的純美國色彩的社會。他的思想,主要體現在<論自然>和<自力更生論>兩部著述中。梭羅受其影響,實踐其理論,創作了<瓦爾登湖>,記錄了他回到大自然的經歷和感悟。愛默生和梭羅所代表的浪漫主義精神旨趣仍具有現代批判性。
