    Abstract: 本辭典係以　Ｎｅｗ　Ａｐｐｒｏａｃｈ　Ｅｎｇｌｉｓｈ－Ｊａｐａｎｅｓｅ　Ｄｉｃｔｉｏｎａｒｙ為藍本譯編而成。其最大特色是把英語和它的文化背景作了扼要而有趣的介紹，使讀者能從文化的層面體認英語與生活的關連；在內容方面從發音、釋義例句、語法、字源、插圖、照片等應有儘有，尤其對於基本字彙的標示（重要字、次要字、常用字）、名詞的可數與不可數、動詞的句型解析等精簡中肯，適合一般學生修習英語之用。書前冠有重要【生活用語】【說明】等的索引（有關家庭生活、食物、禮節、金融業、休閒、交通、運動、教育、宗教、政治、節慶等常用字）；書後附不規則動詞表、字首語、字尾語、ＫＫ及ＪＯＮＥＳ音標對照表、美國州名及其首府名、數的讀法及表示法、度量衡換算表、常拼錯的字、二十四節氣。
