Abstract:	本文嘗試用「旅行」理論的視角來詮釋當代美國詩人史耐德（Gary Snyder）於一九九六年所出版的詩作《山水無盡》（Mountains and Rivers Without End），並檢驗其「跨越疆域」的主題，試圖開展同一與差異的思想，進而邁向（文化）他者、思考「非思考」（他者）。除了回應薩依德、克利佛及巴巴等學者所提出有關旅行、文化的位置／定位和賽爾（Michel Serres）的「自然契約」（natural contract）的理論外，文中我也剖析史氏詩中東方與西方的互文性（如「可可培利」（Kokope'li）、「互涉」（interconnectedness）、空、山水畫等），同時我也指出史氏在長詩中所表達各種跨越疆域的可能性。也就是說，本文將處理範疇的破與立、真實與虛構、自然與文化、在地與旅行等觀念的內在關係，並以道元禪師（Dõgen Zenji）的「畫餅充饑」作開始，凸顯此公案之微言大義，指出史氏追求一種普世「生態潛意識」的企圖。
