    Abstract: 本文嘗試用「旅行」理論的視角來詮釋當代美國詩人史耐德(Gary Snyder)於一九九六年所出版的詩作《山水無盡》(Mountains and Rivers Without End),並檢驗其「跨越疆域」的主題,試圖開展同一與差異的思想,進而邁向(文化)他者、思考「非思考」(他者)。除了回應薩依德、克利佛及巴巴等學者所提出有關旅行、文化的位置/定位和賽爾(Michel Serres)的「自然契約」(natural contract)的理論外,文中我也剖析史氏詩中東方與西方的互文性(如「可可培利」(Kokope'li)、「互涉」(interconnectedness)、空、山水畫等),同時我也指出史氏在長詩中所表達各種跨越疆域的可能性。也就是說,本文將處理範疇的破與立、真實與虛構、自然與文化、在地與旅行等觀念的內在關係,並以道元禪師(Dõgen Zenji)的「畫餅充饑」作開始,凸顯此公案之微言大義,指出史氏追求一種普世「生態潛意識」的企圖。
