We have measured the magnetic levitation forces for a disk shape, sintered yttriumbarium- copper-oxide (YBCO)s u perconductor while it is in one whole piece and also while it is composed of two D-shape pieces. Within our experimental errors, no difference was found. This result implies that the major contribution to the magnetic levitation force comes from the intragrain supercurrents instead of the intergrain supercurrents flowing inside the sintered superconductor.
