An anisotropic model of high-Tc superconductivity has been proposed. It is shown that there exist two energy gaps in agreement with recent experiments. If the system is isotropic and the mechanism involves phonons, we obtain the BCS results. The coupling strength for phonon and nonphonon mechanisms for YBa2Cu3O7-δ system is also discussed, we find that the phonon mechanism is not the proper mechanism for these high-Tc materials. Recent experiments on isotopic shifts seem to support our prediction.
