    Abstract: 在熱物理或統計物理的學習過程中，我們所考慮的都是從較簡單的封閉系統開始。然而實際的應用上，我們碰到系統的多是開放系統。在開放系統中，系統可以與環境自由地交互作用，但是要精確地刻劃環境的影響，不只非常複雜而且我們也不太可能取得所有與環境相關的資訊，所以在理論研究上，我們常常把整個環境理想化成“熱庫”。在英文著作中，描述熱庫所用的詞彙包括了heat bath, (heat或thermal) reservoir, 以及thermostat等。
