    Abstract: Over the past decade, there have been dramatic advances in the technology used to present information. The so-called "multimedia classrooms" were set up in many universities. It is believed that this type of classroom promotes the kind of learning so important to us in higher education-the process of transforming raw information from various mediums into meaningful knowledge. The focus of the multimedia classroom is to provide instructor with the necessary setting in which to assist them to interact successfully in a technology-based learning,environment. However, the conception of "multimedia" may be totally different between the classroom designer and instructor,. Many multimedia classrooms were not planned and designed according to the "functionality" of instruction. Therefore, designing classrooms to fulfill the needs of instruction is of paramount concern. This paper discusses the developing process of four kinds of classroom at Tamkang University and the presentation devices for computer.
