Abstract:	本文主旨是對台灣宗教的社會學研究做一全面性的回顧和檢討。作者首先簡要地介紹台灣的宗教研究發展之歷史概況，包括日治時代的研究概況。其次，本文指出台灣宗教社會學研究，從1980年代才開始急速地展開，並且試圖歸納出這十幾年來所累積的研究成果。最後，提出本土宗教社會學的研究，大體上，存在兩個明顯的缺失：一是過度依賴西方理論而模糊了研究觀察的焦點，二是缺乏對本土歷史的關照。
