    Abstract: A facile synthesis of an aza-bridged bis-1,10-phenanthroline macrocycle is described. X-ray crystallographic analysis of the aza-bridged bis-1,10-phenanthroline revealed that the two central hydrogen atoms were localized on two of the opposite central nitrogen atoms similar to those of free base porphyrins.
