    Abstract: Ultraviolet curable polyure thane oligomers were prepared from toluene diiocyanates and polyester polyols based polyurethane prepolymers and methacrylates were the terminal groups. Trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate (TMPTA) was added into the corresponding polyurethane methacrylate oligo-mers as a reactive diluent. Benzophenone or benzoin ethylether was served as a photosensitizer or photoinitiator, respectively. UV spectra of UV curable PU system could be a reference for the selection of photosensitizers (or photoinitiators). The rate of disappearance on double bonds of methacr-ylates terminated PU could be detected by FT-IR (on 1635 cm^(-1)). The properties (e.g. gel contents, pencil hardness, tensile strength, impact strength and thermogravimetry) of the cured film with various UV irradiation time were investigated.
