Stoichiometric semiconducting salts consisting of TCNQ and saturated dications, N,N′-dialkyl-1,4-diazabicyclo[2,2,2]octane homologues, were obtained. Conductivity (four-probe, 300K) decreases with increasing alkyl chain length, 4.5 S/cm for dipropyl derivative and 10−4 S/cm for dioctyl derivative. FTIR and electronic absorption spectra are presented and discussed. On the basis of the dication nature and the results observed, a possible structure of these salts is discussed.
