    Title: Properties of conducting 7,7,8,8-tetracyano-p-quinodimethane salts with 1, n-bis[1-(.gamma.-picolinio)]alkane dication homologues

    Abstract: 1,n-Bis[ 1-(y-picolinio)]alkane(TCNQ), salts are nonstoichiometric with m varying from 3.4 to 4.7 for n = 2-7. The conductivity (compressed pellet, four-probe method, in the temperature range 23C-310 K) varies with the alkyl chain length of the dications, the highest being 2 S cm-I, for n = 4 and m = 4.6, with the lowest activation energy (0.033 eV). FT-IR and electronic absorption spectra are presented and discussed. On the basis of the results observed, a possible structure is proposed for these homologous salts.
