Two new oxygenated diterpenes, fusicoccanin and neofusicoccantriepoxide, were isolated and identified from the Taiwanese liverwort Plagiochila peculiaris. The latter compound possesses a methyl-rearranged fusicoccane skeleton. In addition, known secoaromadendranes and macrocyclic chloro-bisbibenzyls were also isolated from the polar fraction. P. peculiaris represents a very complex chemo-type of this genus.
