Abstract:	針對分散式數位圖書館的建構與運作效率的提昇，本論文提出了一套以移動代理人為基礎的數位圖書館系統－MADLS（Mobile agent-based digital library s ystem）。在提昇系統效能方面，因為使用者的查詢均透過移動代理人來達成，而移動代理人所具有的主動遷移與遠端處理等特性，將可使網路流量與平均回應時間在本質上大幅減少。此外，在簡化分散式數位圖書館的建構方面，MADLS也提供了一套DLN建構器（Digital-library network constructor）讓建構者可利用視覺化介面來連結現有的資料節點，以建立特定的圖書館網路拓樸，並提供了管理者動態修改網路拓樸及自動指派MA至特定資料節點的能力。為了驗證系統的效能，我們分別模擬了三種典型的查詢方式－查詢結果統計、連續過濾與查詢結果再使用。實驗結果與傳統的主從式架構相比，不論在查詢回應時間或資料傳輸量方面均有顯著的改善。
