地圖平移瀏覽是地理資訊系統(Geographical information system, GIS)的基本功能之一,然而當其應用在WAP的環境中,由於通訊成本昂貴,因此地圖的平移瀏覽功能是否有效率是相當重要的。故本論文提出一個在WAP環境中有效率得執行地圖平移瀏覽之方法。我們先將地圖切割成許多相同大小之圖幅(Tile),再將地圖中之點、線、面等空間資料分別配置在這些圖幅中,並將之儲存在伺服端(Server)的資料庫裡。最後再根據這種資料配置存放的方式提出一個有效率的地圖平移瀏覽之演算法,並利用JAVA實作在WAP環境中,則可對WAP的使用者提供快速的地圖平移瀏覽功能。 Map browsing is one of the basic operations in Geographical Information System (GIS). However, when it is applied to the WAP environment, the efficiency of map browsing is important since the cost of transmission is expensive. In this paper, we propose an efficient method of map browsing in WAP environment. The map is divided into many tiles of the same size. The spatial data such as points, lines and polygons in the map are then allocated to the tiles to which they belong. The information is saved in the database in the server. Finally, an efficient algorithm for map browsing is proposed based on the arrangement of the spatial data. It is implemented in WAP environment by JAVA to provide the remote user with the efficient map browsing operation.
