Taiwan is close to Mainland both in distance and culture. People in Taiwan speak the same language and practiced the same faith as the people in China. Long time antipathy in military and political status encouraged by governments of Taiwan and China after civil war is ended, which causes the people between the Taiwan Strait isolate each other for almost four decades. In 1987, cross-strait communication was re-opened on humanitarian grounds. Since then, socio-economical as well as political ties between the countries have been growing closer. However, along with more frequent cross- strait business activities, business contract problems faced by Taiwanese businessmen in China have been growing in number as well as severity. This paper explores the business problems of Taiwanese businessmen in China with the perspective of business contract. A knowledge-based decision support system integrates with the function of case base, rule base, and relational database developing on web-based architecture, which in order to offer business contract decision support to Taiwanese businessmen in Mainland China is presented. Prototype system implementation is presented. Finally, some managerial issues on this paper are discussed and future works are suggested to readers.
