    Abstract: An improvement of a previous study for estimating the permeate flux of hollow-fiber membrane ultrafiltration has been made. The improvement was achieved by removing an unrealistic condition on the declination of permeate flux near the fiber outlet and the requirement of estimating the solute diffusivity at a condition corresponding to that existing at the membrane surface.
