| 摘要: | With the continuous economic development, the standard of living has been rising, and automobiles have become an indispensable part of daily life. However, frequent vehicle thefts have resulted in significant financial losses for car owners. To mitigate these risks, many opt for auto theft insurance. Yet, as the insurance uptake increases, opportunistic fraud cases are also on the rise, posing serious challenges to the insurance industry. This study aims to delve into the phenomenon of opportunistic fraud within Taiwan's auto theft insurance sector. Initially, it analyzes the background and significance of fraud in auto theft insurance, outlining the characteristics and trends of related fraudulent activities in Taiwan. Subsequently, by collecting and examining claims data from Taiwanese property insurance companies, the study identifies common types of fraud and associated risk factors. Building upon this, expert interviews will be conducted to further analyze auto theft incidents. Finally, the study proposes a series of targeted antifraud measures, including strengthening legal frameworks, raising public awareness, enhancing internal management within insurance companies, and establishing inter-industry anti-fraud information-sharing platforms. |
